MORNING TRAINING BEGINS AT REMINGTON PARK, 2013 LIVE RACING UNDERWAY MARCH 8

OKLAHOMA CITY – In just 31 days, the 2013 Remington Park American Quarter Horse & Mixed-Breed Season will begin on March 8. This morning, the main racing surface was opened as training began with many horsemen taking advantage of the sunny and pleasant weather.

Tyme For A Corona is the first horse that will compete this season to receive an official workout. Trained by Pat Swan, the 3-year-old gelding worked 330 yards in :18.01 seconds, handily, over a fast track at 8:45am.

Owned by the Sasakwa, Okla. partnership of Maxine Patterson, Jamie Roberts and Judith Lewis, Tyme For A Corona posted his best finish in August 2012, when he was third in the $130,000 Mile High Futurity at Arapahoe Park in Aurora, Cola. A Texas-bred son by Corona Cartel from the Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Honey, Tyme For A Corona has earned $22,677 from 10 career starts with one second-place run and a trio of third-place efforts. He is still seeking his first career win.

Remington Park morning training is scheduled to begin at 7am daily, except Mondays. The first day of training races will take place on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 11:30am.

The American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season begins the 25th Anniversary of live racing at Remington Park. The season runs from March 8 and continues thru June 2. Normal post time on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays is 6pm with Sunday afternoon racing offered at 1:30pm.


Open daily at 10:30am for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington Park features the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park.
